Ingredients
  

For the cake:

  • – 270g all-purpose flour
  • – ½ tsp Baking Soda
  • – 1 tsp Baking Powder
  • – 25g Cocoa Powder
  • – 250ml whole milk
  • – 1 tbsp lemon juice or white vinegar
  • – ¾ cup vegetable oil
  • – 300g sugar
  • – 2 eggs
  • – ¼ tsp Salt
  • – 2 tsp Vanilla Essence
  • – 2 tbsp Red Food Coloring

For the frosting:

  • – 400g cream cheese room temperature
  • – 180g unsalted butter room temperature
  • – 160g powdered sugar

Instructions
 

For the cake:

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C.
  • Grease and flour two 15cm diameter cake pans.
  • Sift together flour, Baking Soda, Baking Powder, and Cocoa Powder; set aside.
  • Combine whole milk and lemon juice or vinegar; let it sit for 10 minutes.
  • In another bowl, mix vegetable oil and sugar. Beat in eggs, Salt, Vanilla Essence, and Red Food Coloring.
  • Beat until smooth, then add the sifted dry ingredients.
  • Pour in the milk and lemon mixture, and mix.
  • Divide the batter into 2 pans and bake for 40-45 minutes or until done.
  • Cool for 15 minutes before removing from pans.

For the frosting:

  • Beat cream cheese in a bowl.
  • Add butter, powdered sugar, and continue beating until well combined.

To assemble the cake:

  • Cut each cake into 2 equal layers.
  • Spread frosting on each layer.
  • Cover the entire cake with frosting.
  • Decorate with cake crumbs.
