Tender Sweet Bread Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 325g (2 5⁄8 cups) all-purpose flour
  • 120ml (1⁄2 cup) hot milk
  • 30g (2 tablespoons) sugar
  • 2g (1 teaspoon) salt
  • 7g dry yeast
  • 1 egg
  • 25g (2 tablespoons) unsalted butter

Method:

  1. In a bowl, whisk hot milk with sugar, eggs, and yeast.
  2. Combine salt with flour, then add to the liquid mixture.
  3. Knead the dough until smooth and let it rest for 10 minutes.
  4. Incorporate soft butter into the dough by kneading.
  5. Allow the dough to rest for 30 minutes, then divide it into pieces and roll each one.
  6. Shape the dough into cigars and place them on a parchment-covered baking sheet.
  7. Let them rest for an hour, then brush with an egg wash before baking.
  8. Bake at 160C/320F for 20 minutes.
