Ingredients:
- 16 frozen unbaked roll dough (Rhodes rolls recommended)
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 small finely chopped yellow onion
- 2 cups finely chopped cabbage
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1–2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1 egg
- 1 tbsp milk
Instructions:
- Place frozen rolls on parchment-covered baking sheets, allowing them to rise at room temperature until doubled in size (3-5 hours).
- Brown ground beef in a skillet; add butter, onion, and cabbage halfway through. Cook until beef is browned, and onions and cabbage are soft. Let it cool.
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- On a lightly floured surface, shape each dough ball into a circle. Fill the center with a spoonful of the hamburger mix. Pinch edges to close, rolling gently between hands. Place on parchment paper, seam side down. Cover with plastic wrap for 30 minutes.
- Whisk egg and milk; brush dough with the egg wash. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until golden brown, rotating the baking sheet halfway through.
Notes:
- Plan ahead for rising time; refrigerate if dough rises too quickly.
