As a parent with kids who are always hungry and constantly requesting snacks, I’m always on the lookout for fun, easy, and budget-friendly options. One snack that my kids are obsessed with is YoCrunch yogurt cups, especially the ones with M&M Minis and Oreos. However, buying these individually packaged treats for multiple kids adds up quickly. So, I decided to make my own version at home—and it’s been a hit!

Not only is this a great snack, but it’s also an awesome addition to school lunches. Plus, it’s cheaper than buying the store version and takes just 15 minutes to make.
Here’s how I made 20 cups of homemade “YoCrunch” for under $10.
What You’ll Need:
- 2 tubs of Vanilla yogurt (32 oz each): $3.68
- 1 pack of M&M Minis (shareable size): $2.98
- 1 pack of Oreos: $3.18
- Plastic cups (I had these on hand)
Total cost: $9.84
(To buy 20 YoCrunch cups at Walmart would have cost me around $14. While it’s not a huge savings, every penny counts when you have a house full of snackers!)
How to Make Your Own YoCrunch Yogurt Cups
- Prepare the Yogurt Base:
- Empty the contents of the two yogurt tubs into a large bowl and give it a good stir to make sure it’s smooth and creamy.
- Assemble the Cups:
- Get your plastic cups ready. I like to use cups that hold around 6 oz of yogurt. Spoon the yogurt into the cups, filling each one halfway.
- Add the M&M Minis:
- Sprinkle a small handful of M&M Minis on top of the yogurt. You can control the sweetness by adding more or less according to your taste.
- Crush and Add the Oreos:
- Take about 8 Oreos, place them in a zip-lock bag, and crush them into small chunks using a rolling pin or spoon. Sprinkle the crushed Oreos on top of the yogurt and M&Ms.
- Repeat the Layers:
- Add another layer of yogurt on top, followed by more M&Ms and Oreos. Finish with a generous sprinkle of both for that irresistible presentation!
- Chill and Serve:
- Pop the cups into the fridge for about 30 minutes to chill before serving. This lets the flavors meld together for a truly satisfying snack.
Why I Love This Recipe:
- Cost-effective: Making these yogurt cups at home saved me a little money—about $4 for 20 servings—and with extra M&Ms and Oreos left over, I can make more for next week’s lunches.
- Customizable: I love that you can mix and match toppings! Swap out the M&Ms for granola or fresh fruit, and switch the Oreos for graham crackers or cereal. It’s all about what your kids love.
- Quick and Easy: With 15 minutes of prep time, this snack is perfect for busy mornings or meal prepping ahead for the week.
These homemade YoCrunch-inspired yogurt cups have quickly become a staple in our household. Whether you’re packing them for school lunches or enjoying them as an after-school snack, this DIY version is a fun, delicious, and affordable alternative to store-bought treats.
